The strength of the foundation which every house is built upon will determine the longevity of the structure.

Having a solid foundation will allow you to stand firm in the face of adversity and weather any storm. An organizations Culture is their system of beliefs that drives the ship to completing the mission. Standards and Expectations are the building blocks that determine the culture. Jocko Willink (Co author of Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win) said "When setting expectations, no matter what has been said or written, if substandard performance is accepted and no one is held accountable — if there are no consequences — that poor performance becomes the new standard. Therefore, leaders must enforce standards.".

Hold everyone to the same standard. No one is above the law.

It doesn't matter if you are 8 years old or 80 years old, the standard and expectation remains the same. What does that mean exactly? It means that whatever is possible within the realm of what that individual is capable of doing, they will be held accountable to complete their task. There are no shortcuts. The goal IS NOT to make new friends. I honestly could care less if you like me or not. The goal is for you to get better. If you wake up every morning and come to the conclusion that you don't like me very much but you've accomplished your goals...Mission complete.

Out of every one hundred men, ten shouldn’t even be there, eighty are just targets, nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back.” ~Heraclitus~

Be the warrior!
